I saw that Radio City Music Hall is selling tickets for live performances showcasing the entire Lord of the Rings musical score. It’s completely interactive with a large screen behind the orchestra showing scenes from the movie –all in real time. It looks really cool! Here are some pictures from the set:

As if we thought it couldn’t be done……. Here is a very original take on Britney Spears, “Toxic.” Notice the Mel Brooks, “Young Frankenstein” violin solo in the intro……..what do you think that the musicians are saying by including it?
Curious? I found some VERY rough footage of an orchestra practice that Mrs Amy LOVED. The music is slightly reminiscent of the Mr. Holland’s Opus soundtrack. The composition that the orchestra is playing by Alexia Vassiliou.
I don’t know if anyone of you have already heard of the Vienna Symphonic Library–it’s a voice library for composers. The musical voices are actual recorded voices from different instruments. Many composers use these voices these days for recording—because for one, the sound can be pretty ok and two, for them, it’s cheaper.
